Tahoe Women's Care is encouraging women to "check to detect" and is now offering the HALO® test for $50 (originally $75) all year.
Drs Henning Mehrens, primary care physician, and Peter DiGrande, anesthesiologist, were recognized as “Doctors of the Year” for their dedication and work in the South Lake Tahoe community and its surrounding areas.
"The da Vinci is the most advanced form of minimally invasive surgery available," Tahoe Women's Care Gynecologist, Gary Willen said. "We've [Barton Memorial] been doing laparoscopic surgeries for a long time. The da Vinci allows us to perform surgery on some of the most difficult cases. It's incredibly precise, with its 3-D versus 2-D capabilities.
According to Monica Sciuto, Community Health Needs Assessment Lead Coordinator and Director of Public Relations at Barton Health, “For years, healthcare has been focused on treating individuals. If we are going to create a healthcare system that is right for our area, we need to broaden that focus to the entire community. This project will help us accomplish that.”
The health grants awarded addressed some of Lake Tahoe’s most pressing health needs, such as nutrition, physical fitness and mental health.
